Biological tissues are highly sophisticated structures with a complex 3D architecture and multiple cell types interacting with each other. Thus, spatial architecture underpins fundamental aspects of human health and disease like cancer, autoimmune disorders, or neurodegenerative diseases. Our lab leverages innovative microphysiological systems (also known as ornga-on-a-chip) to generate anatomically inspired in vitro systems to study cell-cell interactions.
