ISIDORE - RISK GROUP 4 PATHOGENS
Calls for proposals dedicated to the study of Risk group 4 pathogens, are still open!
Given the high level of demand, and the fact that 75% of their budget has been used up, we encourage you to apply as soon as possible!
1. Vector‑borne diseases: The geographic and host ranges of vector-borne diseases are expanding, mostly due to anthropogenic factors. With rising temperatures and changing weather patterns, the risk of these diseases affecting increasingly large areas of the world will continue to rise, as reflected by the record number cases of dengue (including non-imported ones) and West Nile virus observed in Europe in 2022.
2. Respiratory pathogens: A large number of pathogens target the human respiratory tract, resulting in a broad spectrum of clinical manifestations including life-threatening acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). While serious respiratory infections are predominantly caused by RNA viruses, other types of pathogens can be involved. The modes of transmission of respiratory pathogens often give them a significant epidemic potential.

HORIZON EUROPE – ERC PROOF OF CONCEPT GRANT (ERC-2023-POC)
The ERC Proof of Concept Grants aim at facilitating exploration of the commercial and social innovation potential of ERC funded research, by funding further work (i.e. activities which were not scheduled to be funded by the original ERC frontier research grant) to verify the innovation potential of ideas arising from ERC funded projects. Proof of Concept Grants are therefore on offer only to Principal Investigators whose proposals draw substantially on their ERC funded research.
The financial contribution will be awarded as a lump sum of EUR 150 000 for a period of 18 months. The ERC expects that, normally, proof of concept activities should be completed within 12 months. However, to allow for those projects that require more preparation time, the grant agreements will be signed for 18 months. Extensions of the duration of proof of concept projects may be granted only exceptionally. The lump sum will cover the beneficiaries' direct and indirect eligible costs for the project: if the project is implemented properly, the amounts will be paid regardless of the costs actually incurred. The lump sum has been designed to cover the beneficiaries’ personnel costs, subcontracting, purchase costs, other cost categories, and indirect costs.
All Principal Investigators in an ongoing ERC main grant or in a ERC main grant that has endedless than 12 months before 1 January 2023, are eligible to apply for an ERC Proof of Concept Grant.
The goal of the Well-being call is to fund innovative social science research addressing one or more of the call themes. This call aims to promote diversity in research. When building research consortia, applicants are strongly encouraged to take into account the following aspects:
Gender balance
Academic age balance
Geographical diversity
Knowledge exchange and impact
Proposals must be submitted via the EPSS system CALL DOCUMENTS
The Open Call is seeking applicant(s) to propose the development of novel applications along with specifications that combine XR and educational/training use cases. With respect to the targeted sectors, a minimum of 70% will be dedicated to XR-application relevant to industry 5.0 technologies and relevant skills and a maximum of 30% will be allocated to sub-projects targeting other educational sectors (e.g. healthcare and medical, manufacturing, construction and engineering). An application may be submitted by an individual SME or a small consortium of up to 3 members in total. The Project Leader/Coordinator must be an SME, while the inclusion in the consortium as a member of a potential user/early adopter (e.g. University, Academic or Training organization) may be a plus (although not mandatory), especially in the application specification and validation processes.
