ISIDORE - CALLS FOR PROPOSALS

RESPIRATORY PATHOGENS: a large number of pathogens target the human respiratory tract, resulting in a broad spectrum of clinical manifestations including life-threatening acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). While serious respiratory infections are predominantly caused by RNA viruses, other types of pathogens can be involved. The modes of transmission of respiratory pathogens often give them a significant epidemic potential.

The ISIDORe consortium supports scientists with an interest in these respiratory pathogens.

Researchers are invited to submit any proposal that Is focused on at least one eligible respiratory pathogen, excluding SARS-CoV-2 (see below and full ISIDORe PPP list).


VECTOR-BORNE PATHOGENS & THEIR VECTORS: the geographic and host ranges of vector-borne diseases are expanding, mostly due to anthropogenic factors. With rising temperatures and changing weather patterns, the risk of these diseases affecting increasingly large areas of the world will continue to rise, as reflected by the record number cases of dengue (including non-imported ones) and West Nile virus observed in Europe in 2022.
The ISIDORe consortium supports scientists with an interest in the causative agents and vectors of these fast-spreading diseases.
Researchers are invited to submit any proposal that Is focused on at least one eligible vector-borne pathogen (see below and full ISIDORe PPP list).
 
OTHER PATHOGENS WITH EPIDEMIC POTENTIAL: will the next global infectious threat be an orthopoxvirus, or an enterovirus? Will it be even caused by a known pathogen? Can we be ready for the next pathogen X?
The ISIDORe consortium supports scientists with an interest in epidemic-prone pathogens, including pathogen X.
Researchers are invited to submit any proposal that Is focused on pathogen X or at least one of the three pathogen classes specifically identified in this call.

EUCAIM Open call – imágenes de cáncer e inteligencia artificial​

El proyecto EUCAIM (Iniciativa Europea de Imágenes del Cáncer) tiene por objetivo fomentar la innovación y el despliegue de tecnologías digitales en el tratamiento y la atención del cáncer, a través de la recopilación de imágenes de cáncer y datos clínicos vinculados para lograr una toma de decisiones clínicas, diagnósticos, tratamientos y medicamentos predictivos más precisos y rápidos par​a los pacientes con cáncer.

En este marco, dicho proyecto ha lanzado una convocatoria abierta para:
  • Incorporar nuevos “data holders” de imágenes de cáncer, aumentando las dimensiones geográficas, las modalidades de datos o los objetivos de cáncer
  • Incluir nuevos algoritmos desarrollados por inteligencia artificial y fiables en el análisis de datos de imágenes de cáncer.

TRANSCAN-3 JTC2024: Combination therapies against cancer: new opportunities for translational research

El proyecto TRANSCAN-3, financiado por la UE para apoyar la investigación traslacional del cáncer de alto impacto, ha lanzado la 4ª convocatoria con el título “Combination therapies against cancer: new opportunities for translational research”, con la participación de 21 organismos de financiación de 16 países. Los investigadores españoles elegibles podrán ser financiados por el Instituto de Salud Carlos III (ISCIII) y la Fundación Científica de la Asociación Española Contra el Cáncer (FCAECC).

El objetivo principal de esta convocatoria será el diseño de modelos preclínicos de pacientes para terapias combinadas.

The canSERV Consortium is pleased to announce the launch of its 3rd Challenge-Driven Call on "Revolutionising Cancer Patient Care: Innovative Approaches to Research and Clinical Trials for Improved Treatment Outcomes".   • ERC-2024-ADG: ERC Advanced Grants are designed to support excellent Principal Investigators at the career stage at which they are already established research leaders with a recognised track record of research achievements. Principal Investigators must demonstrate the ground-breaking nature, ambition and feasibility of their research proposal. Advanced Grants may be awarded up to a maximum of EUR 2 500 000 for a period of 5 years (the maximum amount of the grants is reduced pro rata temporis for projects of a shorter duration).

HORIZON EUROPE – MSCA POSTDOCTORAL FELLOWSHIPS 2024
 
Fellowships will be provided to excellent researchers undertaking international mobility. Applications will be made jointly by the researcher and a beneficiary in the academic or non-academic sector.
Postdoctoral Fellowships either can take place in Europe (i.e. in an EU Member State or a Horizon Europe Associated Country) or in a Third Country not associated to Horizon Europe:
  • European Postdoctoral Fellowships are open to researchers of any nationality who wish to engage in R&I projects by either coming to Europe from any country in the world or moving within Europe. The standard duration of these fellowships must be between 12 and 24 months.
  • Global Postdoctoral Fellowships are open to European nationals or long-term residents[1] who wish to engage in R&I projects with organisations outside EU Member States and Horizon Europe Associated Countries. These fellowships require an outgoing phase of minimum 12 and maximum 24 months in a non-associated Third Country, and a mandatory 12-month return phase to a host organisation based in an EU Member State or a Horizon Europe Associated Country.

HORIZON EUROPE – ERC PROOF OF CONCEPT GRANT
 
The ERC Proof of Concept Grants aim at facilitating exploration of the commercial and social innovation potential of ERC funded research and are therefore available only to Principal Investigators whose proposals draw substantially on their ERC funded research.

The financial contribution will be awarded as a lump sum of EUR 150 000 for a period of 18 months. The ERC expects that normally proof of concept activities should be completed within 12 months. However, to allow for those projects that require more preparation time, the grant agreements will be signed for 18 months. Extensions of the duration of proof of concept projects may be granted only exceptionally.

EIC Transition funds innovation activities that go beyond the experimental proof of principle in laboratory. It supports both the maturation and validation of your novel technology from the lab to the relevant application environments (by making use of prototyping, formulation, models, user testing or other validation tests) as well as explorations and development of a sustainable business case and business model towards commercialisation.

HORIZON EUROPE – EIT HEALTH FLAGSHIP CALL 2024
 
HORIZONEIT2022HEALTH: Consortiums will be invited to submit a short or single proposal form (accessible through EIT Health’s application platform), as applicable, as well as general information on their activity. For single stage submissions, all details are expected at the submission date.In the two-stage submission process, the activity plan may not be fully finalised, and the consortiums may not be complete at the short proposal stage.
 
The minimum requirements for applying (including eligibility criteria) are specified in the call document (see Further information below). In addition to eligibility checking, EIT Health will perform a high-level assessment of general alignment of the proposal with the Flagships call based on strategic fit, potential future impact,and activity feasibility. This will yield a yes/no decision on the progression of the proposals in the evaluation process.

HORIZON EUROPE – MSCA COFUND 2024

 
HORIZON-MSCA-2024-COFUND-01-01: MSCA COFUND co-finances new or existing doctoral programmes and postdoctoral fellowship schemes with the aim of spreading the best practices of the MSCA including international, inter-sectoral and interdisciplinary research training, as well as international and cross-sectoral mobility of researchers at all stages of their career.

In practice, MSCA COFUND provides complementary funding for doctoral or postdoctoral programmes managed by entities established in EU Member States or Horizon Europe Associated Countries. Those co-funded programmes must follow MSCA’s good practice in terms of international recruitment and minimum standard of employment for the recruited fellows as described in the European Charter for Researchers.

COST – OPEN CALL: A SIMPLE ONE-STEP APPLICATION PROCESS

Participants are invited to submit COST Action proposals contributing to the scientific, technological, economic, cultural or societal knowledge advancement and development of Europe. Multi- and interdisciplinary proposals are encouraged.

The Open Call Action proposal submission, evaluation, selection and approval (SESA) procedure is fully science and technology-driven and will ensure a simple, transparent and competitive proposal evaluation and selection process, reflecting the bottom-up, open and inclusive principles of COST.

Participants planning to submit a proposal for a COST Action will need to refer to the SESA guidelines and to the Open Call Announcement available on the Documents and Guidelines page.

MSCA Doctoral Networks will implement doctoral programmes, by partnerships of universities, research institutions and research infrastructures, businesses including SMEs, and other socio-economic actors from different countries across Europe and beyond. MSCA Doctoral Networks are indeed open to the participation of organisations from third countries, in view of fostering strategic international partnerships for the training and exchange of researchers.

These doctoral programmes will respond to well-identified needs in various R&I areas, expose the researchers to the academic and non-academic sectors, and offer training in research-related, as well as transferable skills and competences relevant for innovation and long-term employability (e.g. entrepreneurship, commercialisation of results, Intellectual Property Rights, communication). Proposals for doctoral networks can reflect existing or planned research partnerships among the participating organisations.

El Ministerio de Ciencia, Innovación y Universidades (MICIU) y la Oficina Europea de FECYT, celebran una Jornada Informativa Nacional para la difusión del Programa de Cooperación Europea en Ciencia y Tecnología “COST” y el programa transversal de Horizonte Europa, Ampliar la participación y Fortalecer el Espacio Europeo de Investigación (EEI) “WIDERA”.

Esta jornada se celebrará el próximo día 10 de junio de manera presencial en el salón de actos del MICIU, contando con intervenciones de la delegada nacional en el Comité de Altos Representantes de COST y la Coordinadora Nacional de COST. Además, se contará con la presencia de participantes españoles en Acciones COST para explicar de primera mano, sus experiencias con el programa desde diferentes puntos de vista. En esta ocasión vamos a introducir el programa transversal de Horizonte Europa, Ampliar la participación y Fortalecer el Espacio Europeo de Investigación (EEI) “WIDERA” de la mano de Kaia Kert, representando a la Comisión Europea.

La jornada tiene el objetivo fundamental de promover la participación de investigadores españoles en el Programa COST y explicar las novedades de este dentro del programa marco de investigación “Horizonte Europa”. Además de presentar las convocatorias abiertas del programa WIDERA en 2024 y algún caso de éxito.

  • HORIZON-EIE-2024-CONNECT-02-01: Ampliación de las colaboraciones entre la academia y la empresa.
    La acción deberá fomentar la creación de ecosistemas de innovación con instituciones educativas y de investigación o fortalecer vínculos ya existentes. Las propuestas deben describir actividades para apoyar a las instituciones educativas y de investigación para que asuman un mayor papel empresarial, por ejemplo mediante el impulso de la innovación y el emprendimiento dentro de sus actividades y siempre en línea con las respectivas estrategias de especialización regionales.
 
  • HORIZON-EIE-2024-CONNECT-02-02: Esquema de aprendizaje mutuo y apoyo a programas de innovación nacionales y regionales.
    Esta acción tiene como objetivo mejorar el diálogo y el trabajo en red entre autoridades y agencias públicas de innovación para el diseño e implementación de programas regionales y nacionales de financiación de la innovación (en línea con los requisitos de la certificación de programas para el Plug-in del Acelerador EIC).

The registration for the IHI Call Days for call 8 is now open. 

The series of online events will provide potential applicants with the information they need to put together a strong proposal, and give them the opportunity to identify and meet partners for their consortia.

Info sessions will run from 17 to 21 June 2024 and will cover the individual call topics as well as our rules and procedures. All webinars will include plenty of time for questions.

Why should you attend?

  • Information Sessions - IHI will present the rules for participation and the content of the call topics.
  • Matchmaking and Networking - You will be able to book meetings online with your peers. It is a great opportunity to find partners to build a strong consortium.

Introducing a new way to report personnel costs in your Horizon Europe project.

El día 19 de junio, la Comisión Europea celebrará una sesión informativa sobre el nuevo sistema para el cálculo de los costes de personal en los proyectos de Horizonte Europa en base a costes unitarios.

Durante el webinario se explicarán cómo se debe realizar el cálculo las tarifas diarias y el proceso a seguir para solicitar su utilización.

Este nuevo sistema de cálculo del coste único diario para todo el personal es opcional para las organizaciones que lo soliciten.

La Comisión Europea (CE) organiza un seminario web dedicado a los "CFS - Certificate on the Financial Statements", en Horizonte Europa.

La sesión cubrirá los siguientes aspectos:

- Nuevo enfoque y principales características de los procedimientos para los CFS en Horizonte Europa.
- Procedimientos generales aplicables a todas las categorías de costes.
- Procedimientos a seguir para categorías de costes específicas: costes de personal, subcontrataciones, compras, etc.

El seminario concluirá con una sesión de preguntas y respuestas.

Este seminario web busca explorar la forma de trabajar juntos para hacer un mejor uso de los resultados de los proyectos en el área de la comprensión del cáncer.

Se pondrán en común las visiones de distintas partes interesadas y los ciudadanos sobre la investigación y la innovación, proporcionando una exposición temprana a los proyectos de clúster lanzados en el marco de la Misión del Cáncer.
